March will be the start of the fifth year of tax-free investing for South Africans and since its introduction the local market has gone nowhere as we trade back at 2014 levels. Offshore has fared better, helped by a weaker Rand over the period. But for many the tax-free experience hasn’t been all that thrilling in terms of return.
