PortfolioMetrix

This new actively managed ETF listed last Wednesday (31 January) and comes to market with a gross yield of 11.8% which even in a high income world is impressive.

Managed by Prescient (new ETF kid on the block) PortfolioMetrix will actually manage the underlying ETF portfolio. Importantly PortfolioMetrix already have a unit trust (PortfolioMetrix BCI Dynamic Income Fund) with the same methodology and has returned just under 10% a year since 2015.

“Investments acquired for the portfolio will be predominantly interest-bearing securities and money market instruments; although may include equity and property securities, preference shares and assets in liquid form.”.

  • Code: PMXINC
  • TER: 0.58%

Below is an interview I did with Philip Bradford, PortfolioMetrix head of investments.

At Just One Lap, we are big fans of passive investment using ETFs. In this weekly blog, we discuss ETFs on the local market and the factors you need to consider when choosing an ETF. If you have wondered how one ETF differs from another, this is where you can find out. We explain which index each ETF tracks, what type of portfolio could benefit from holding each ETF, and how the costs will affect your bottom line.

Capitec, great results. Very expensive stock. Sasol just a horror.
