Ess Mukumbo & Simon Brown at the ETFsa breakfast

I was at an ETFsa breakfast recently with a whole bunch of awesome people and part of the goody bag was an old school printed booklet of all listed ETPs. Flipping through it later that day I stumbled across a bunch from UBS that I simply never knew existed.

They’re all on the JSE, with offshore underlying themes/indices and while volumes are slim, there is an active market maker to ensure we trade around fair value.

Here are some examples
  • UBS Bloomberg Transatlantic Top 50 Biotech – Bloomberg Transatlantic Top50 Biotech Index (BIOTEC)
  • UBS Bloomberg Luxury Series Luxury – Bloomberg Luxury Series 1 (ULUXSE)
  • UBS Bloomberg Eurozone DM Top 10 Oil & Gas – Bloomberg Eurozone Developed Markets Top 10 Oil & Gas (OILGAS)
  • UBS Bloomberg Euronext Helios Space – Euronext Helios Space NTR Index (USPACE)
  • UBS MSCI USA IMI Metaverse – MSCI USA IMI Metaverse Select Index (METVRS)

I like them very much and will do more details on some of them in the months ahead.

Remember
  • They’re ETNs, so they’re not allowed in a tax-free account
  • They’re total return, so no dividend payments
  • Being ETNs, they expire.
    • These ones are expiring in June 2028.

TER in above ETNs is 0.5%.
