Best and Worst JSE Listed ETFs so far in 2025

Notwithstanding all the noise around local and global markets it has been a good start to the year with resources leading the way.

Interestingly is the Top40 doing very well and Europe also sneaking into the list of top performers. In fact Europe is the only offshore ETF on our list of winners as below.

All data is year-to-date total return for the period ending 30 June 2025.

You’ll note the PGMs all have a negative five year CAGR, show’s just how tough it has been.

On the loser side we have a fairly small list and here we find many offshore ETFs covering; health, property and the S&P500. The list below is all the red ETFs so far year-to-date and no local referenced ETFs.
