Just One Lap is eleven years old today!

I’d long had a small dream about helping people be smarter with their money, first starting a derivatives website in 2000, and then joining Standard Online Share Trading in 2007 as head of education. But I wanted to make a more direct, and positive, impact on people’s wallets. So in 2010 I resigned from Standard Bank and launched Just One Lap at an event at the JSE on 23 March 2011.

It has been an awesome eleven years as it turned out people do indeed want to manage their money better and with a little knowledge, you do.

Most special has been the community that grew up around Just One Lap. Asking (and answering) questions, helping us create quality content, attending in-person and virtual events. Generally just being awesome and taking it even a step further by sharing your knowledge and helping still more people be smart with their money.

Tonight I’ll be drinking bubbles and toasting all of you.
