Tax Free Savings Account (TFSA)
Almost one year ago, Tax Free Savings Accounts (TFSA) were introduced by the Finance Minister. This was as a means of encouraging a culture of saving in South Africa. TFSAs are 100% exempt from tax and as such, are a must for every investor’s portfolio.
This month’s Power Hour presented by Just One Lap founder, Simon Brown, will focus on the rules around investing in TFSAs. We’ll review how you can get in the TFSA game, what the limits are and whether these are anticipated to change,. We’ll also look at how TFSAs should fit within an overall investment strategy and what the best TFSA options are. included are suggestions for a low, medium and high risk ETF portfolio within a TFSA.
Simon also comments on his ETF selection from last year and what he will be buying when the new tax year starts on 1 March 2016. NOTE the BBET40 is now CSEW40, same ETF different name and manager.
